Walmart to allow external AI agents to shop for users starting next month

Walmart is set to allow users to connect their own AI agents to its shopping site starting next month, with support for Sam's Club.'Starting next month, Walmart will let users link their personal AI agents to its online store, including Sam's Club. Through new Agent Profiles, shoppers can approve purchases, set spending limits (such as a maximum of $100), and turn off the agent at any time. Walmart is also building an Agent Gateway based on the MCP open standard, enabling agents to bypass the browser and connect directly without exposing shopping history or personal data.
