Chinese mathematicians including Shing-Tung Yau launched an initiative in Beijing on Sunday."Chern Institute of Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory Alliance", partnering with eight institutions. The goal is to build a network of over 1,000 researchers to develop specialized models, machine-verifiable proofs, and transparent AI reasoning. Yau warned that China is falling behind the United States.
