California Governor Newsom signs executive order requiring expert panel to propose AI emergency stop mechanism plan within two months

The executive order requires an expert group to study the establishment of an AI "emergency stop switch", that is, an emergency mechanism that can immediately shut down the system when major problems occur. In addition, the expert group also needs to study and formulate stricter laws requiring independent third-party institutions to develop comprehensive safety plans for AI companies and station personnel in the companies to conduct safety audits.
