Nieman Lab reporters found that when ChatGPT generates New Yorker-style cartoons, it signs the names of real cartoonists, and the author recorded the signatures of more than 15 cartoonists being used without permission by the OpenAI image generator, including Brendan Loper, Emily Flake, Pat Byrnes and others.
