According to The Information, OpenAI has purchased tens of thousands of Apple Mac mini and Mac Studio in recent months, to train AI agents that can operate computers. These devices mainly undertake reinforcement learning tasks, where the AI needs to repeatedly practice operations in a real environment. Apple's unified memory architecture became key, AI industry demand for high-spec Mac surged, some models have been out of stock for months.
