DoorDash launches AI agent that can order via text message through Apple Messages

DoorDash announced on Wednesday the launch of an AI agent that can order via text message; users send prompts such as "order my usual" in Apple Messages to place orders, and the agent can understand usual orders, search nearby restaurants by specific dishes or local recommendations and give cart suggestions with photos. The agent can also handle different dietary preferences and quantities of multiple people in the same order, and US users can join a waitlist to try it. In addition, DoorDash will test delivery drones with some restaurants in Northern California.
