Hacker discovers critical PS5 vulnerability using AI, receives $50,000 reward from Sony

Recently, a hacker used generative AI to discover a critical vulnerability in the PS5 that could have been exploited to run Linux on the console. Sony awarded $50,000 through its bug bounty program to reward the discovery and facilitate the patch. Jordy, the name of the hacker, stated that his initial motivation for finding the flaw was to raise medical expenses for his mother who is battling a terminal illness.
