Nvidia pours 6 billion US dollars into Poolside, intending to build a Chinese open-source AI competitor
According to The Wall Street Journal, Nvidia has agreed to pay AI startup Poolside 6 billion dollars to obtain a non-exclusive license to its AI model software, and to offer jobs to its 109 employees. In addition, there are reports that Nvidia will additionally invest 1 billion dollars. This deal reflects Nvidia's strategic layout in the AI field, especially in open-source models.
