Moving away from dependence on TSMC, LG Electronics will commission Samsung to OEM AI home appliance chips
LG Electronics will jointly develop two IoT chips for AI home products with CoAsia SEMI, with a total project cost of 31 billion Korean won, to be manufactured by Samsung Electronics. This marks LG's first large-scale shift to Samsung for foundry, to seize the initiative in next-generation AI home platforms.
