It is reported that Amazon is considering spinning off and leasing back 8 billion US dollars of NVIDIA Grace Blackwell AI chips

According to the Financial Times, Amazon is seeking to divest about 8 billion US dollars worth of NVIDIA Grace Blackwell AI chips to a special purpose vehicle (SPV) and lease them back. The chips are distributed across more than ten data centers in five US states, and the SPV is expected to receive an investment-grade credit rating, attracting external investors through share sales and bond issuance, which helps Amazon mitigate the debt pressure from AI infrastructure investment and achieve relatively asset-light operations.
