Report: Microsoft Maia 300 AI chip to debut as early as next month, targets delivery of at least 300,000 units in 2027
According to foreign media The Information citing people familiar with the matter, Microsoft plans to launch its self-developed AI chip Maia 300 this fall, expected to be released as early as September. The chip aims to reduce reliance on Nvidia, and has discussed capacity with TSMC, targeting delivery of 300,000 units in 2027. In addition, Microsoft is hoping customers such as Anthropic will adopt its own chips.
