What is AI Mode? Generative exploration and follow-ups in Google Search
Explain AI Mode’s complex queries and links, distinguish AI Overviews and indexing and verify answers and eligibility.
Understand the concept
AI Mode supports AI answers, follow-up questions and web links in Google Search. It can explore subtopics but can err. It differs from AI Overviews and results vary. Verify sources; sites still need search fundamentals and cannot guarantee inclusion by adding questions.
Generated answers can explore several subtopics
Google describes follow-ups, subtopic searches and supporting-link eligibility. Sources can differ in dates and conditions and need verification. Interface and availability change, so demos are not universal defaults. Search-based synthesis is not complete human review and confident wording does not certify facts.
Open sources to verify a specific answer
For product limits, record query and date and verify values and versions in original pages. Topic mentions are insufficient. Check uncertainty for unsupported follow-ups and retain source conflicts. No account or search experiment was used here and no quality metric is reported.
Website eligibility still depends on search fundamentals
Google uses existing SEO practices without special markup and requires indexing and snippet eligibility. Maintain readable text, discovery links and consistent structured data. Submission or builds do not prove exposure. Include updates and actual measurement. Distinguish technical health, usefulness and observed display.
