Seedance is ByteDance Seed’s video creation family, generating video from instructions and reference material. Later versions jointly generate audio and video. It has a different task from the Seedream image family and is not the Jimeng app itself. Check the version and the app or API features available for it.
For longer clips, define how shots connect
Official Seedance 2.5 specifications allow clips up to 30 seconds per generation with extensions. Longer duration permits more than one moment, such as packing a bag before leaving a room. Describe the transition; extra duration alone does not establish coherent storytelling.
When an action crosses a cut, compare held objects and body orientation. If a cup is put down and inexplicably returns to the hand in the next shot, the sequence needs revision despite polished visuals. This is a review method, not a generated demonstration or guarantee.
Explain the role of each multimodal reference
The 2.5 announcement describes image, video and audio references. For a dance clip, a portrait can guide appearance while a video conveys movement. State how the inputs relate instead of expecting the model to infer which one has priority.
Reference support does not imply exact reproduction of every detail of any work. Conflicting rhythm and visuals may require removing irrelevant material before comparing the intended motion. Confirm authorization before using references featuring people or protected works.
Timed edits require checking their start and end
Seedance 2.5 describes timestamp-level audiovisual editing and features such as green screen and camera perspective control. For a sound replacement, specify the interval and what must remain. App tools and directly available API fields still need separate verification.
Compare the complete edited output with the original, especially sound at the interval boundaries. A local edit may affect neighboring frames; reviewing only the replaced second is insufficient. Use editing software for repairs that require exact frame-level control.
Model releases and platform availability have different timelines
Seedance 2.5 can be tried in apps including Jimeng and Doubao Pro, and the official model catalog also links developers to API access. The API was still announced as forthcoming at the July 2026 launch. That historical notice does not establish an account’s present access rights.
For integration, check available account versions and input limits and keep the material and request settings. This article read the official model page and announcement without requesting access or comparing queues. Showcase clips do not establish equal usable length or quality for arbitrary prompts.
