The New York Times reports that China recruited AI executive Alice Huang to spy on Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

According to a memo circulated among senior Trump administration officials, the US intelligence community identified Alice Huang as Beijing's spy asset. She is linked to China's Ministry of State Security and was recruited to study American chips and potentially influence Nvidia. Her company, Megaspeed, launched a $10 billion-plus procurement of Nvidia chips in 2024 and leased computing power from Alibaba for Southeast Asian data centers, allegedly creating a backdoor for China to access restricted chips.
