Researchers from Tsinghua University and UC Berkeley (including Pieter Abbeel) have open-sourced uni-robot-agent, enabling local Qwen3.8-Flash-Next to outperform GPT-6 Astra in zero-shot robot control across tasks, with each task costing only about $1—just 6.6% of OpenAI's cost.
