Opus 5.5 Agent Discovers Two Candidate Room-Temperature Magnetic Semiconductor Materials
Opus 5.5 agent discovered two candidate room-temperature magnetic semiconductor materials via density functional theory calculations: one is a newly designed Luttinger compensated magnet YBaMnFeO₅, with predicted band gap 2.35 eV, hole spin window 1.0 eV, electron spin window 1.4 eV; the other is a known material already synthesized in 1999, with calculations predicting it possesses the target magnetism. Room-temperature thermal disturbance is only about 26 meV, far smaller than the spin window, and it is expected to be used in next-generation spintronic storage.
