Former OpenAI engineer pleads not guilty to eavesdropping charges in executive meeting room
Former OpenAI engineer Abdulrahman Alfozan pleaded not guilty in court to charges of installing eavesdropping devices in an executive meeting room. His lawyer filed a defense on Friday following indictment by a grand jury for the felony crime of illegal interception of oral communications. Alfozan has been held in custody since his arrest on October 9, with a judge ruling that his ties to Saudi Arabia pose a flight risk. The indictment did not allege theft of trade secrets or work for a foreign government. The company also stated it found no evidence of him taking model weights or source code.
